SCW’s industrial roofing division installed a soundproofing cladding system for RUC Mining’s shaft sinking project.

SCW’s Industrial Roofing Division was engaged by RUC Mining to supply and install a specialised soundproofing cladding system for a major shaft sinking project at Menangle Park. The project involved complex work at height and strict safety compliance due to the scale and nature of the structures.

Scope of Work

The project included full cladding and insulation of two vertical structures, each over 50 metres tall, forming a key part of the shaft sinking operation.

Key components of our scope:

  • Installation of over 20 km of sheeting
  • Supply and fitting of insulation materials to meet soundproofing requirements
  • Installation of purlins and flashing for structural integrity and weatherproofing
  • Work at height using elevated platforms and safety-rated access systems

Safety & Collaboration

SCW maintained a strong focus on safety throughout the project:

  • Zero major incidents recorded during the works
  • Strict adherence to work-at-height procedures and compliance with site-specific safety protocols
  • Regular coordination and planning with RUC’s on-site team ensured smooth integration with broader project activities

Project Delivery & Outcome

This project was successfully delivered on schedule and to the satisfaction of both RUC Mining and end-client South32. SCW’s ability to manage complex installation in a high-risk environment while maintaining safety and quality standards reinforced our reputation as a reliable industrial roofing partner.
