Water Main Upgrade
Shoalhaven Water engaged SCW for Fabrication and installation of a replacement 80m + water main in a remote location.
SCW was engaged by Shoalhaven Water to fabricate and install a replacement water main spanning over 80 metres. The work was completed in a challenging, remote location and required coordination across multiple trades to deliver the upgrade with minimal disruption to the region’s water supply.
Scope of Work
Our team was responsible for both off-site fabrication and on-site installation of the new water main system. The key deliverables included:
- Fabrication of over 80 metres of water main to meet Shoalhaven Water’s specifications
- On-site installation in a remote, difficult-to-access area
- Integration with existing infrastructure to ensure seamless operation
- Coordination with multiple trades, including civil works, excavation, and utilities
Project Challenges & Solutions
The remote location and limited site access posed logistical and operational challenges. SCW responded with detailed planning and flexible execution, ensuring:
- Safe and efficient equipment transport and site setup
- Close collaboration with other contractors to streamline sequencing
- Use of fit-for-purpose machinery to manage terrain and environmental constraints
Safety & Delivery
As with all SCW projects, safety remained a top priority:
- All work was completed without incident
- Strict adherence to site safety protocols and risk assessments
- Efficient execution led to minimal disruption to local water services
Outcome
The project was delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard, successfully upgrading the water supply infrastructure for the Shoalhaven region. SCW’s ability to manage complexity and remote conditions reinforced our commitment to quality and reliability in essential infrastructure projects.
